It will be a LONG weekend for those headed to Baltimore, with the first team’s performance at 7:37 am and the final awards ceremony at 10:15pm.  Updated schedules have been posted and it looks like the Jersey Devils will be joining the South Jersey Storm, World Cup, Rocket Elite, CC Champs, TNT,
JC Liberty, CJA, NJSE, and Jersey All Stars who were all on the prelim schedule.  Jersey will be well represented down in MD as these ten gyms bring it to Baltimore!

Sunday Schedule

As April comes to an end so does the 2009-2010 competition season.  These
last few competitions will be an emotional time for many athletes and
families in the state and across the nation.  We wish the best to all of
those finishing their season or all star cheerleading career down in
Baltimore.  Good Luck to all Seniors as they move on to greater things,
may you always remember the bumps and bruises that you pushed though, the
triumphs that made it worth it, experiences, lessons, memories, and
everlasting friendships that you have made along the way.  We may all be
from separate gyms, but our love for the sport is all the same, and the
ending of a season is always saddening.  But with the closing of a door,
comes the opening of another!

While most gyms are finishing their season, the level 5 athletes from our
11 Jersey teams headed to worlds are just gearing up for the competition
of their lives.  With only a tentative schedule posted right now anxieties
are building in anticipation of the preliminary line up.  We will have the
link to that posted as soon as it becomes available.

Also, several NJ gyms will be sending some of their teams to represent
them at the All Level Championships or US Finals.  More info on that will
be posted as it becomes available.  If you are one of those teams, send us
an email so that we can send an update before the schedule is posted!

Good Luck to all this weekend and next!

So turns out we weren’t able to make the drive out to Philly today, however we will keep with the updates as we promised! From what we have heard, the Comet Super Minis were at it again! Taking home another national championship title and Grand Champion Award! Can’t wait to see these young ones when they grow up, already a such a strong force!

The rest of the Comet organization seems to be having a great day as well, Taking home national titles in the Small Youth 1, Small Youth 2, and Small Senior 2 divisions so far! With second place finishes for Small Junior 2 and 3, Senior Open 5, and a third place finish for Large Senior 2 and Small Senior 5.

Moving up to Senior Open 5 for their last competition was Comets’ Large Senior 4 team with a successful performance. All Star One Starbursts, Senior Open 5, also felt like bumping up their skill level as they were hoping to throw 7 Doubles in their routine! Even after learning that Comets had joined them in the Open 5 division, All Star One decided that performing skills they have worked for and taking a loss to friends was more important than watering down to go for the win.

All Star One’s Red Hots, Sparklers, Starburst, and Explosives will each be returning to NJ as National Champions! Senior Glory and Big Bang each will be returning with 2nd place trophies while the Firecrackers finish in 6th.

While we have not heard any updates on the rest of New Jersey Spirit Explosion’s teams we do know that the Fab5, Small Senior 5, team finished in first!

While we would have loved to have been there to report back with first hand updates we have had to receive everything through a third party.. If we missed coverage of your team or division please email us and we will update our post!

Over in Toms River, World Cup had a successful day. Galaxy returned as National Champions and Level 4 Grand Champs. Milky ways took home the National title and Level 2 Grand Champs. Also earning the titles of National and Grand Champions were Leopard Sharks in Level 1 and Angel Sharks in Level 3. Each Grand Champion at the CNY Nationals won a $500 cash prize!Great White Sharks, Satellite Black and Satellite Gold all placed 2nd. Twinkles finished their season with another impressive performance and National title. Unfortunately, this was also the end of the season for all World Cup Ocean teams.

In Ocean City, MD at Reach the Beach it appears that the Open All Girl 6 Stunt Group from Fantasy Xtreme has won the title of Grand National Champion and a cash prize of $500! Congrats!

Official results will be posted as soon as they become available. Good luck to all those who are still competing tomorrow, and congratulations to those who competed today!

Thanks for all the positive feedback about the blog! Keep it coming, the
more we hear from you the more we know what you wanna hear about!

This weekend quite a few jersey teams are heading out to Philly for WSF’s
Liberty Bell one day Nationals.  Finishing out their season are the Comet
Allstars, who have a surprise in store as they make a guest appearance in
a new division for one of their teams.  Joining them at the competition
will be South Jersey Storm, JC Liberty, and New Jersey Spirit Explosion as
they prepare for their trip to Baltimore next weekend for All Star
Challenge’s Return to Atlantis.  Star Athletics and All Star One will also
be at this event.  Each division is packed with talent as most of these
teams face off against each other.  Rumor is that All Star One’s Senior
Open 5 will be “breaking the rules,” don’t worry we don’t think this is a
bad thing!  Their athletes want to show off the new skills they have
mastered throughout the season at a higher level.  Kudos to the Starbursts
for pushing themselves past the limits of their division!  As tryouts
approach us all if you are planning on joining any of these gyms we urge
you to make the drive out and check out their performances!  See the
programs in action!

Also this weekend is the Cheer New York Nationals in Toms River.  World
Cup will be the only NJ gym in attendance at this one, both their Lakewood
and Freehold locations will be up against mostly NY and CT teams.
Hopefully they will keep the prize money awarded to grand champs of each
level in Jersey!

Also this weekend is one of the final competitions giving out worlds bids,
American Cheer and Dance Academy’s Reach the Beach in Ocean City, MD.  NJ
teams headed down to this competition include Vision Xtreme, Fantasy
Xtreme, Just Cheer, Hamilton Starz, Jersey Elite, and Rocket Elite.  Just
Cheer is the only Jersey program eligible for a bid here as they are the
only level 5 contenders.  Good luck, bring it back to NJ!

New Jersey Tryouts

In Atlanta, Central Jersey Allstars took the Small Senior 5 division 2 over 12 other teams at Cheersport Nationals, beating out the reigning World champs, the Stingray Allstars. World Cup Twinkles, Youth 5, were the only other NJ team to grab victory at this competition with over 900 teams in attendance. A few weeks later, in Dallas, TX, the World Cup Shooting Stars came home with their first National Championship title from NCA since 2004 in the Large Senior 5 division. Check out their winning performances:

Cheerleading WorldsAlthough many gyms are winding down their season right now, practices are still as intense as ever for the eleven level 5 teams from NJ heading to worlds. Representing the Garden State in Orlando in 2 weeks will be:

The 3-time Reigning World Champions of the Large Senior 5 Division – World Cup Shooting Stars. Stars received their fully paid worlds bid in January at the Athletic Championships National Competition in Providence, R.I. Also representing New Jersey on a Full Paid bid is New Jersey Spirit Explosion in the Small Senior 5 division who received their bid earlier last month at The Coastal Corporation’s Battle at the Capitol Nationals.
Full Paid bids cover travel expenses for teams and two coaches up to $25,000. The other two NJ teams that were lucky enough to earn these highly coveted bids this season were South Jersey Storm’s Semi-Limited and Star Athletics Small Limited. SJS received their bid at The Coastal Corporation’s Battle at the Capitol in March, while Star Athletics were lucky enough to secure their spot at worlds early, as they received their bid at Cheer Tech’s Spirit Nationals in December.
Heading down to Florida on a Partial Paid bid from ECC is TNT Allstars in the Large Limited Division, as well as the Small Senior team from Just Cheer, who will be representing Universal Spirit. The rest of the NJ teams will be attending the competition on an At-Large bid. For the first time ever World Cup Odyssey; representing UCA in the Large Limited division, is in that mix, as they have previously always attended on a Full Paid bid. World Cup is also sending their Large Junior team, Starlites, who were one of eleven junior teams attending the competition. The junior teams were all judged and selected by video submissions, this is the first year of this technique, and rumored to possibly be the last year of a junior division at The Cheerleading Worlds.
Representing Jersey as the only level six team heading to Disney is South Jersey Storm’s International Coed. SJS received their bid at The Coastal Corporation’s Battle at the Capitol the first week of March.
Central Jersey Allstars, All Star One and the Comet Allstars will all be representing NJ on their At-Large Bids. CJA received their bid back in December at Cheer Tech’s Spirit Nationals, while Comets and As1 both received their bids from Cheersport at their National Competition in February.
Sitting this one out for the first year in the Small Senior division will be Jersey Devils All Stars, who competed in Large Senior the past two seasons, as well as the first year level five team, Gems Cheer Stars Small Limited Coed.
